Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Virgin Media O2?
I had an incredible experience on the graduate scheme. We had so many rotation options available to us and could organise our own rotations if we wished. I was given structured training and was always given real responsibility in my roles.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I completed four 6 month rotations on the grad scheme.
Responsibilities included: Project and roadmap management, data analysis, requirements writing, logistical workarounds
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
I was given my own projects in each rotation that I could own and execute which meant I could make meaningful contributions to the team and felt needed.
I felt valued by every team I was in, everyone was so positive and was more than happy to answer any questions I had which made me feel supported and like I was working in a positive environment.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Incredibly well - on top of the common perks (private healthcare cover, birthday day off, etc.) we have discounts for all VMO2 products and across the Virgin brand as well (flights, gyms, cruises, etc.) and a smart spending app that gives us discounts for high street stores etc. We also have the option to buy or sell up to 5 days annual leave which is great flexibility.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Very well, I chose rotations that would give me exposure to various parts of the business so I could gain an in depth understanding of how various areas work and what area I would like to progress my career in. I was then able to focus in on the area I wanted to work in and apply for jobs there at the end of the grad scheme. This put me in a great position to get the role as I had a good relationship with the team and valuable/relevant experience.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
Formal training was great and very well structured, it touched on topics that were important for progressing our careers e.g. stakeholder engagement, presentation work, resolving conflict, project management, etc.
Informal training - I gained so much experience on the role through my BAU work, I was supported by my managers and teams and was encouraged to try new things
