Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
Savills is a nice employer to work for, the culture is quite friendly. In the past year I've met a lot of people both internally and externally at events hosted in the office or real estate centred.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My role involves the mechanical and electrical design of elements required for various jobs e.g. fit-outs and refurbishments. I go on site maybe once or twice a week for inspections and witnessing and commissioning. I enjoy writing reports and going on site once in a while.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
My team have always encouraged me to actively contribute on projects. I have led on some projects and been trusted to go to site by myself for witnessing and also worked on a job entirely by myself from start to finish.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
I'd say in the industry we are paid averagely, my friends earn pretty much the same amount, some higher, some lower. It's nice that graduates have a central bonus fund as last year my team did not share the bonus with us grads.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
I feel I have started my career in a very good role, I was immediately brought on in real projects and not doing odd tasks.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5
I have developed new skills but there is still room for improvement, we could be taught to use software competitors firms are using. My team sometimes does lunch and learn sessions for the graduates.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
hybrid working is good.
How would you rate Savills initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
Whilst there is some diversity I'd say more could be done to improve the numbers. Black History Month and south Asian Heritage month were good events.
How would you rate Savills CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
We are given a day to volunteer

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
My team is very nice and welcoming, I cannot speak for all teams as some of my colleagues have left due to not feeling welcome and others are complaining of being discriminated.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
Show personality, and willingness to learn it's appreciated at Savills.
