Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Savills so far. The work is varied, fast-paced and gives me the chance to be involved in interesting projects across residential development and Build to Rent. I feel like I’m always learning something new, whether that’s from the work itself or from colleagues who are very open and collaborative.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My role mainly involves analysing development schemes, preparing pricing and rental comparables, and helping to produce clear, concise research for clients. I really enjoy the mix of data analysis and market-facing work – it’s rewarding to see how the research feeds into live projects and decision making. I also like the variety, as no two schemes are the same, and that keeps the work fresh.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel that my work directly supports colleagues and clients, and my input is listened to. The team is collaborative and there’s a good culture of sharing ideas, which makes me feel that what I do is valued.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

The experience I’m gaining is very transferable, whether it’s market analysis, client-facing work or research skills. It feels like I’m building a strong foundation for a long-term career in real estate.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

The formal training sessions are helpful, but I find I learn the most through live project work and support from colleagues. The mix of both has helped me develop technical skills (like Excel and data analysis) as well as softer skills like presenting and client communication.

I’d recommend Savills because the graduate programme allows you to rotate through different teams, learn a lot, and meet a wide network of people across the business.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

The role is very much in line with what was described, with lots of exposure to live projects and responsibility early on.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
Be prepared to show genuine interest in property and keep up to date with the market. The assessment process is fair and a good chance to show enthusiasm.
