Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I took part in supplier relations. I spent time interacting with stakeholders and getting to know procurement and the wider business. We were encouraged to get to see the wider functions of the grid alongside our work including site visits. I gained a valuable understanding of procurement as well as the wider business.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility for a short placement, given i was still learning. I felt supported in my role but also empowered that i was competing valuable work. This made me feel stretched but confident and comfortable to ask questions to support my learning and experience.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I developed my presentation skills and interpersonal skills. I enhanced my use of software and data analysis and my ability to summarise and articulate data. I was also exposed to valuable extra curricular training to develop my career generally.
