Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Savills. The company has a well established graduate scheme and graduates rotate around different teams within the company every four months. The work is varied and graduates are given a lot of responsibility very quickly.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My current role involves writing Red Book Valuations for loan security purposes. I undertake inspections of properties and gather comparable evidence using online databases and speaking to local agents to determine my opinion of value. I enjoy seeing a wide variety of properties across London and working with a range of different people.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My team have given me a lot of responsibility very quickly. I have been involved in valuations of super-prime properties and I feel my opinion is valued by all members of my team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I frequently work more than my scheduled hours however graduates do get a small bonus annually. The job is very social and I frequently attend social events with my team.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I have had exposure to a range of services within my company which has strengthened my understanding of the industry. I have received a vast array of training and feel supported towards my APC and Masters.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I frequently learn new skills and regularly attend training courses.

I have a variety of sources of support, every graduate has a APC supervisor and counsellor to support them with their training.
How is your work-life balance?

Sometimes the work can be quite intense however I feel I can still maintain a good work life balance and I am in control of the hours I choose to work.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The company is very welcoming to graduates and there are lots of events to meet a range of people across the business. Graduates rarely get to work from home, I think allowing one day of remote working a week would be beneficial for both mental and financial wellbeing.
How would you rate Savills initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

The company has lots of diversity and inclusion targets and initiatives, however I think more should be done to increase the number of staff from state schools.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Savills, I don't think there would be a better company to start a career in real estate.
