Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at National Grid?
Being at National Grid has been a game changer for me. I have had experience over the years across different countries in different fields, coming to National grid exposed me to something entirely different. From amazing structure, to system, development plans, support from everyone and a friendly environment. I spent by 18months on the raduate scheme learning about different areas of the business while actively involved. Being at National Grid has shaped my career pathway positively and I am glad I made the choice to be here.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I first worked as an assitant project manager, where I supported in coordinating stakeholders engagement, from meetings to emails to ensure we meet set deliverables within the allocated timeframe. I was actively involved in esurring safe way of working with our contractors and others. My 2nd rotation includes supporting the 17 ASTI projects approved by NESO as part of the 2020 Net zero plans. I worked with the team through public consultation, engaging the communities on what we are delivering, how it beneifts them and most importantly gettign their feedbacks and suggestions. My third placement (final) involved working in early development of our projects, and prepared me for insight into how much efforts goes into our project works.
