Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I created manufacturing Models using NX for the tempest demonstrator, I also aided in the operations side creating a list for procurement of POLS, Cutters and Fasteners. I was given a lot of jobs over many different areas giving me really good coverage of working out what happens in industry.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes a lot, i made a real impact on the work done, and models and lists that will be actually used for build.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, CAD Skills, Operations Skills, Presenting Skills, and I've developed many of the skills I've currently learned from UNI. I was also given training by approved trainers to improve my knowledge of PLM Software and Design Software all paid for by the company.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A lot, everyone on the team was happy to help with any issue I had and everyone was always open to have a chat about the work being done which allowed me to learn a lot about manufacturing engineering. I received support from the early careers team as well if I had any issues they where always willing to help. My Line manager was also available for a chat whenever as long as i put a meeting in the diary.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Great everyone's open to Talk and everyone is just a bucket of knowledge which you can use to your own advantage to learn as much as possible, it is all so interesting and everyone is so passionate about the work we do.
