Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
The experience has been good so far. The graduate scheme for permanent graduates (can't comment on rotating grads as it's very different) is great and they actively support you towards achieving your accreditation (whether RTPI, RICS, CIBSE, etc.) at the end of the two years.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The role involves technical analysis, reviewing energy data, and supporting clients towards decarbonisation pathways.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My team are good at giving graduates opportunities for presenting, learning and attending events. The work I do isn't micro-managed, and it does strongly impact the projects.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

There are graduate schemes out there that pay more in London. However, the benefits are decent, they offer free mental health support (external service) and some other benefits relating to healthcare, etc.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

There is potential for growth - including commercial exposure and client management - though you do have to be driven and push for it.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I feel as though I'm learning a lot - the exposure to a variety of projects helps with this.

Fortunately, my experience with line managers has been great. They are approachable and relaxed (i.e. not uptight), but still very proactive about supporting my development.

Team dependent - but my experience of the culture has been mostly friendly and supportive.
How would you rate Savills initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

They do have dedicated networks for employees to join, such as faith-based, ethnicity, women's, sports networks, etc. to support inclusion. It's a nice way to meet people.

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?

Why?
I would. I think the interdisciplinary nature of the company is so useful for an early-career professional because you get to know many aspects of the property industry and how they work together. Even if your first role isn't the right fit, you will find what is!
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I think it did match expectations - it was explained well through both interviews and there was also an introduction presentation which spoke about the wider team.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
Do your research on the industry (not just 'Savills' as a company). If you have unique forms of work experience, be it abroad, or in a variety of adjacent fields - it's a key strength to highlight!
