Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
Working at Savills as a graduate surveyor has been a brilliant start to my career. The training is well-structured, the APC support is strong, and the team is approachable and knowledgeable. I've had exposure to a wide range of work and real responsibility early on which I have also found incredibly beneficial.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I work in the property management team, where I handle day-to-day tenant matters, liaise with clients, and help manage service charge budgets. The role involves regular site inspections, coordinating maintenance issues, and ensuring properties run smoothly. I enjoy the mix of technical work and communication, especially building relationships with occupiers and stakeholders.

I would say that I am learning new things every day in my role through a mixture of on the job training and also formal development workshops.

My line manager and team are all very supportive and want to help you develop in the role. Wider Savills support is also excellent in helping you through your APC.
How is your work-life balance?

Work life balance in my role is very good. With regards to timings on a typical day, I am usually in the office around 08:15/30 and often leave at around 18:00.

Why?
I’d recommend Savills to a friend because the graduate programme gives you real responsibility from the start, strong APC support, and the chance to work with experienced professionals. The culture is collaborative, and there’s a good mix of technical work and client-facing experience that helps you grow quickly. On top of this the brand is also really strong which means you get to work on some really interesting projects.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I cannot fault the recruitment process for the job I got. I thought it was incredibly fair and was one of the few companies where you feel like you are actually being treated as a person rather than simply another number during the recruiting phase. The role itself matched what was described to em when I applied for it.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
My biggest tip for the recruiting and onboarding process would be to proactively engage early. Savills offers a wide range of schemes, work experience, placements, summer schemes etc. If you engage early with the schemes whilst at school or university you are far more likely to end up getting a job if you perform well.
