Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Day 1 was an introductory session involving a Q&A with trainees and a virtual social. Days 2 and 3 involved working within Dentons teams and Day 4 involved a collaborative group task.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

There were lots of opportunities to learn about the business - there were Q&A sessions with trainees, a partner and HR and everyone at the firm was more than happy to spend time answering your questions.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I definitely developed my confidence by being given realistic work within a legal team and my communication skills improved through the interactive nature of the week as a whole and the group task.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture was extremely friendly and welcoming. I got the impression that everyone was valued - the trainees even said that some of their innovative ideas had been adopted by the firm which stood out to me. Everyone was communicative and friendly.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I thoroughly enjoyed the scheme and would recommend to all aspiring solicitors. Despite being online, I did not feel restricted in my opportunity to get to know the firm and everyone who worked there. I learned so much in a short space of time.
