Software Engineer Intern Review

I worked on the project related to the system owned by my team as a software engineer intern. On daily basis, I participated on daily meetings, 1-1 meetings with my mentor and manager; worked on project-related tasks;

I had the full ownership for my project that I worked on, which gave a good sense of responsibility for me. My team also always included me in team discussions and meetings regarding the systems/issues asking my opinion, which gave me a good exposure of being a part of the team and making important decisions

I learned to work with various technologies like Docker, Kafka, Redis and many more. I was able to deepen my knowledge in other fields familiar to me like coding on Python, using git and etc.
I also sharpened my soft skills, learned to small talk, keep conversations, ask meaningful questions and also be a good team member

I had a very supportive mentor. for whom I am grateful for. He supported me on every stage of my internship, gave me a reasonable about of ownership, always pushed me to be confident, take responsibility and always deliver complete products. He shared me with insights of working here, being a team member, helped me with my adaptation to the city and did his best to make sure that I could successfully finish my project and internship in general
Same for my manager. She was very supportive and sweet, helping me in making important decisions for my project. As a manager, she knew how the whole system works and could give me a great insight of what is better for me to do. She also always gave me a chance to express my opinion of whether this or other choice better and collaborated on making the best decision.

People here are great! Everyone is very open for conversation, supportive and very friendly. It helped to quickly adapt here. I also love how everyone are passionate about their job and can always share interesting and funny stories, share new opportunities and support on every issues I experienced.
Also, company supports people and their inclusivity, a lot of events for people from people and everyone who wants can join. As a person, who participated in most of these events, I can totally say that I enjoyed them!

I loved it so much! I had the great exposure, both in technical and social side, was able to meet with amazing people, work with talented and supportive people and create something impactful for the company and people in general.
