Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The role involved:
• Working with internal stakeholders to clarify data requirements and necessary method capabilities;
• Designing and documenting experiments to extend or develop analytical test methods;
• Reviewing relevant peer and internal scientific literature on technologies and materials which are to undergo
analytical testing;
• Processing and reviewing data to assure integrity and confidence in results;
• Engaging with internal teams to report and discuss results.

Yes I was given a lot of responsibility and independency throughout the internship.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
A lot of analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GC-MS, GC-FID was learnt. As well as this, I developed a lot of soft skills such as time management, presentation skills, teamwork and communication.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I was genuinely surprised about how much I enjoyed the year. It really taught a lot of skills to take away my future career path and I saw how much I personally grew throughout the year.
