Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Worked with Sales Operations Business partners and the wider UKI business, providing data analytics. My primary role focused on forecasting and reporting for sales teams; however, I also had the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects which allowed me to work with a variety of stakeholders in the organisation.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I wasn’t treated as an ‘intern’ from day one, but instead was integrated into the team and treated as equal. My day to day tasks had a real impact on the team and overall business.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have become fluent in excel and developed my analytical skills massively. More importantly, I’d say my soft skills have improved significantly, from corporate etiquette to presenting. I feel the role has allowed me to become well rounded and gain an in depth knowledge of how a large tech company operates!

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had support from multiple mentors/buddies, there was guidance from the whole team but also an external (centralised) placement team who were there to answer any questions, particularly at the start!

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I felt the environment was extremely inclusive and diverse. I attended pride events, BWN talks and felt a real atmosphere of inclusivity.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my placement at SAP. I can’t recommend the company, team, or role enough. I truly believe you get out what you put in, if you would like explore other areas then you’re able to, the skies the limit

What advice would you give to others applying to SAP
Be yourself! A year or a career is a long time to pretend to be someone you’re not. There will be a perfect role for you; be yourself and I’m sure you will smash it.
