project development first 3 stages
feasibility study of potential solutions to find the most implementable solution to a problem. interdisciplinary project team of engineers

stage 1: research, notes, framing of problem and setting scope
stage 2: meetings to gain information, further research, implementation research, cost calculations, other calculations
stage 3: write up of feasibility report, presentation of findings, creation of implementation plan

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
yes - independent project given to a team made solely of interns. lots of support from graduate engineers and project managers, but the project was our own, and responsibility to reach out to people beyond the ones previously mentioned was on us.

a lot
personal meetings with line manager to set and review personal objectives
daily meetings with an engineering grad who guided our team and helped us reach out to relevant people
regular updates to the wider team and received lots of feedback and expertise
people from all across the Power team helped us when we reached out and offered us lots of additional training and advice

What advice would you give to others applying to Centrica
The application process has very poor communication and feedback. You have to reach out and ask for feedback. The company culture is very positive and emphasises the importance of community and learning, giving many opportunities for growth
