Marketing Summer Intern Review

I worked as a Digital Marketing and Events intern in Energised Futures, Centrica's in house research and innovation incubator. I supported both internal and external communications, helping to enhance the organisation’s digital presence through LinkedIn campaigns, blog writing, and event planning. My work focused on translating technical insights into engaging content.

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my internship. I independently managed our LinkedIn Content Calendar, our monthly newsletter, contributed to blog writing and publishing on our CMS tools, and worked closely with our researchers.

I gained hands-on experience using CMS tools to build and update web pages, and enhanced my design skills by creating visual assets for social media posts. I developed my presentation skills by regularly sharing updates and presenting to various stakeholders.

I received strong support throughout my internship. My line manager was approachable and encouraging every step of the way, and the Emerging Talent team was always available for guidance. I was also assigned a buddy who helped me settle in and navigate my role throughout the internship. Overall, everyone at Centrica has been supportive, always willing to share their knowledge to help you learn and grow.

The company culture at Centrica was friendly and inclusive, with plenty of opportunities to connect through intern networking events, volunteering opportunities, and sessions with senior leadership. The atmosphere was collaborative, and social events helped build strong relationships across teams.

It was a rewarding internship that gave me the chance to work on meaningful projects while developing both creative and professional skills. I felt trusted with real responsibilities and enjoyed the opportunities to learn from colleagues across the business. This internship has given me greater confidence in my abilities and for sure, a better sense of direction for my future career.

Yes
