Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Each day begun with a catchup meeting with my manager to do a update on my progress each day. I procured for Bord Gais and this involved meetings with internal stakeholders to understand the sourcing strategy and next steps as well as updates on my progress in achieving specific objectives.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was provided a high degree of responsibility during the role, this included dealing with high level financial contracts and working directly with internal suppliers on their problems.

I have learned new software skills using the Ariba tool and developed my Excel and PowerBI to a greater level a long with my soft skills

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received full guidance and support by my teams and specifically my manager. This involved daily catchup meetings and they would respond on time and were extremely helpful.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture was exceptionally supportive and very friendly, always offering time to help me develop and above all would make the experience enjoyable and would engage with meetings with our 'buddy' to see how we were doing as an update.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I completely loved my experience at the internship and met a great group of people who were extremely supportive. I also grew in my skillset both professionally and personally in a wide range of areas.

I would definitely recommend applying! The skills you gain and the opportunities are wide ranging and everyone is here to support you and give you responsibility straight from day 1. The projects are interesting and you develop so much professionally and personally.
