People Generalist Summer Internship Review

As a People Generalist, responsibility can differ from role to role, across business units and vary across departments.
My role included: research of the business unit and the people partnering role; collaborating closely with engineers to inform them on benefits and wellbeing during Field Roadshows and I analysed Q2 Engagement Surveys on three different drivers, deep diving into a senior leadership team for Transformation and Change.

Yes I facilitated 4 roadshows, as the face of the People Team across the country, 2 of which I attended independently.
I had ownership of my own diary with responsibility for managing deadlines and task prioritisation.
I produced multiple slide decks for senior leadership utilising both quantitative and qualitative data.

I have developed many soft skills in facilitation, task prioritisation and time management.
Also developing technical skills such as HR core principals, communication adjustments and so on.

I had multiple daily check ins with my line manager that were adapted to both of our schedules. I had a timetable for core activities and objectives for my internship. Despite being based in another office, my line manager was always on hand whenever needed.
My ITM's were also beyond helpful with weekly meetings, answering any questions necessary and arranging extra activities for my team.
I also had regular weekly meetings with a graduate buddy and a placement student.

A supportive environment with a positive atmosphere.
