Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was part of the Actuarial and Consulting team so had work from both of those teams, it was a mixture of more technical work and also things like inputting data. We were given some long projects which lasted a week or two and also small tasks that could be done within the day.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, we had to make Annual Funding Updates for clients, we did individual member transfer value calculations and issued them, we also updated models for monthly factors. We worked with many different clients and felt like the work I did was meaningful.

I have learnt new Excel skills, developed my attention to detail and learnt more presenting skills and how to communicate complex ideas in a simple way (intern project - presentation).

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support and guidance, I had weekly catch ups with my performance manager and the graduates were very helpful and made sure we had work to do and would take time out to explain to us what to do and were always there to help and guide us. Some of the people in the team were also always there to help should we need it.

I enjoyed it for the work experience, I think it will be helpful for my future as I now have industry experience rather than just technical experience (degree).
