Performing technical calculations using spreadsheet models. Learning actuarial concepts through tasks and an independent project to research and prepare simultaneously.

All technical work was thoroughly checked and reviewed by several senior coworkers - not very much responsibility

There was a lot of informal support provided, and encouragement to ask questions and seek guidance from anyone and everyone. Formal support was less prevalent; often there were times left to scavenge for things to do.

The company culture was very open and flexible (particularly due to the open office space and mix of grades working close by). The general atmosphere was supportive and encouraging

I found the experience slightly unstructured which impeded my enjoyment. When I had enough work to do, it was fairly enjoyable, but this was not often the case.
