Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

In the first 4 weeks the role focuses on training with some basic work such as individual calculations interspersed between the sessions. In the final four weeks training eases off and more work is assigned, with time allocated to complete and present an individual project.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

We are currently being given more work and I have seen the direct impact that helping to complete the work has had in managing the workload for the team. You are definitely kept busy and there are always shadowing opportunities available too alongside work.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my networking skills through this internship through attending different socials and interacting with a wide range of colleagues on a day to day basis. I have also developed my problem solving skills when looking at the best way to approach a task.

Everyone working here has been incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when answering any questions I have. Asking questions is encouraged and I have felt very grateful at the willingness of colleagues to give up some of their time to help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The general atmosphere of the office is one of friendliness and positivity. When talking to senior colleagues who have been at the company for numerous years they have always sited the people as the reason that they have stayed so long, and it is clear to see why! I have not yet encountered anyone who hasn't been friendly/willing to help.
