Summer Scheme Student Review

My role involved working on assisting the Rural Agency team buy and sell rural properties in Scotland. More specifically I was working on brochures, taking minutes at meetings, completing acreage schedules and property spreadsheets such as analysis of the asking prices and offers for properties.
On a nearly daily basis we would also have team meetings which primarily consisted of the ongoing properties we were marketing, alongside other aspects of agency.

Yes, I was responsible for writing market notes shared internally across Savills and for writing the property details for brochures of properties we were selling which then were sent out to clients and the broader public.
Further responsibilities I was given included interacting with clients on site and over the phone regarding their property or enquires and entering these into the Savills system.

I have developed my existing skills in concise writing ability, on Excel spreadsheets and interpersonal skills when writing property reports and interacting with clients on site visits and viewings.
In terms of new skills and knowledge, I have learned about and gained hands on experience of the intricacies of buying and selling property, ranging from small holdings to large estates and everything in between.

I received support when I needed it from my mentor, the whole agency team and everyone across the office for my work or any other problem which I had across the six weeks.

The company culture has very friendly and sociable with several post work events which I was invited to.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of time at Savills.
