Summer Scheme Student Review

During my time at Savills I was able to work across a range of different projects. I was responsible for completing Lease Extension forms, Heads of Terms Agreements and other documents for clients. I was also involved in carrying out research for real estate markets across the globe for comparative reports sent to clients. My research also extended to looking for suitable sites for clients, reaching out to landlords and gathering relevant information.

I was responsible for communicating directly with clients and following up on specific project needs. My work was checked before being sent off to ensure no mistakes were sent to the client but largely the responsibility was my own. I really enjoyed researching behind the scenes and participating in calls with clients to share what I had found out.

Throughout my time at Savills I have been able to develop not only my technical knowledge and skills specific to the industry, but also my soft skills. Notably, my collaboration skills have been enhanced by having the opportunity to assist my team with tasks under deadlines. Participating in client facing work has greatly grown my ability to effectively communicate in a professional setting and I have also been responsible for co-ordinating meetings across other countries which has required focused organisation.

I was provided with great support, check ins with the graduate recruitment team were great as they provided a point to touch base half way through my placement. Organised networking was also brilliant as it gave the opportunity to share experiences with other interns as well as the directors and graduates. I was also supported by everyone in my team who were all receptive and more than happy to answer any questions I had.

Savills is an amazing company to be a part of, my GOS team specifically have been so welcoming and helpful. Everyone is always more than happy to help and truly wants you to reach your potential. The atmosphere in the office is so positive and collaborative, this definitely feeds into the companies success as a whole. The great culture extends to outside the office and I have really enjoyed participating in actives outside of work such as a 5k run and a BBQ!

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Savills, the whole experience has made me so excited about the future and what is to come within my real estate journey. The 6 week duration was brilliant as it allowed me to really immerse myself within not only the projects I was working on, but also the culture within the office.
