Summer Scheme Student Review

My role mostly deals with service charges, ensuring buildings (specifically the external areas) are well maintain and all tenants enquiries is resolve promptly. Daily, I was involved with managing leases, handling tenant relations, ensuring property maintenance, and dealing with financial matters. I had to create budget reports, variance reports, Savills workflows, business plan, research and data analysis.

Yes, in the beginning (first week) I was not really doing anything that difficult, but after that, i went straight into the big works - e.g.. creating quarterly budget and variance reports to visit sites and speaking with tenants to understand their needs even more. The work and experience was really eye-opening and amazing.

I have enhance my excel skills as it is a key technological skills all the other teams uses.
I have improved my confident to network and build relationships from multiple people from different background.
My understand of the real estate market and different departments has really widen as I got to speak to multiple members from various different teams to understand their roles and daily works.

I received a lot support during my internship. I was specifically assigned to 4 members of the property management team, who always ensured to provide me with work, explain everything thoroughly and answers all questions I had for them. They guided me whenever i needed it and were always open to assist me.

People were very positive and easily approachable.
Everyone was nice to me and made me feel very welcome and appreciated.

I really enjoyed my time at Savills, especially my Property Management team due how they warmly welcomed me into the team, accepted me, appreciated all the work/efforts I put into everything I did, provided me all the knowledge and guidance i need.
I gain a good understanding of the all the other team, which helped provided me with a confident idea of the department I will love to pursue during my graduate programme.
