Summer Scheme Student Review

Within this role, I have been introduced to a variety of the planning teams projects, varying from both large scale and small scale developments. My responsibilities range from policy monitoring, condition tracking, application monitoring, deliverable lists, attending public consultations and Design Team Meetings. All the members of the team have introduced me to a variety of planning concepts and policies, helping develop my understanding of the planning world.

Yes, I was given a range of tasks that exposed me to different aspects of planning. I did different tasks for different team members, so I was always kept busy. Over the duration of my internship my responsibility increased.

Throughout my time here I have developed a variety of skills including IT skills using MS office, in particular Excel, my communication skills both to work collegues and clients, improved on my time management skills by dividing my time for different tasks.
I have learnt new analytical skills and improved on my attention to detail by reading planning statements and applications.

High level of support from team members within the office and graduate recruitment. Graduate recruitment hosted a variety of departmental overview talks, allowing us to network with experts in the industry and provided insight into career paths and other similar areas in property.
Everyone on the office was friendly and always provided support when needed.

Very positive, everybody was friendly and the companys people focus was defintley emphasised. In the office, across all departments everyone was willing to talk about their roles and give any support. Everyone I work with all had positive experiences with the company and enjoyed working there.

I really enjoyed my internship at Savills, it has provided me with a deeper understanding of the planning world and equipped me with skills I can take into a graduate position post Uni.
