Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work in the residential development, I have been working on Consultancy and Marketing reports for residential developments in lots of locations around London. I have shadowed my line manager in architect and design meetings which helped me see the earlier stages of developments. Furthermore to the office I have managed to go to site visits of many of the sites Savills is involved with. This has come from reaching out to different marketing sweets but also going to a launches and days where they invite agents to have a look around in preparation to help sell the developments.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, it started of shadowing learning the ropes and how an employee in the team would go about different task. Then the further into the Internship I would be given more responsibility and my own tasks to complete.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Improving my communication skills and teams skills has developed through having to work with new people including clients and joining a team of new faces I've never met. I have learnt more real estate specific skills for example how to make reports, improving my excel skills, working on comparables and learning how to fill in pricing sheet to name a few.

I have had a great time here working at Savills. I have learnt many great skills which I can take into my final year at university. Which I can then also take into the working world in the future.

What advice would you give to others applying to Savills
Get out and speak to people in all departments, find out how they got to where they are as there are many different routes. Work hard the entire period as there are opportunity for further employment after. Come in with positive mindset of wanting to learn and you will come out with more knowledge
