Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working in rural management, my roles vary from day to day. Sometimes, I am working in valuation, sometimes estate management and others consulting on sustainability strategies for rural clients. I interact with other members of the team who provide me with my tasks, and occasionally go on site visits with members of the team.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given quite a lot of responsibility and complete independence with how I use my time and dedicate it to the tasks at hand.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have a stronger command of Excel, and have learnt mapping using LandApp which have been helpful skills. I have improved my research skills massively.

I received support and guidance whenever I asked for it. Members of the team have been really helpful and happy to help whenever I may require it.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is very friendly, with staff members always remaining completely professional, both inside and outside of work. The general atmosphere is never tense and every is always very polite to one another.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Although it is not something I wish to pursue in the future, I have enjoyed my time here on the whole and feel I am able to transfer the skills I have learnt into whatever job I choose after graduation.
