Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a Commercial Placement Intern at Vodafone Group, I supported strategic projects through market research, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. Day-to-day, I helped on conducting competitor research, creating the development of internal dashboards, drafting internal reports, and presenting analysis findings to the team, with a focus on the emerging fintech trends and opportunities.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given meaningful responsibility throughout my placement, including leading research tasks, preparing internal reports of my analysis ,and helping the development of internal dashboards. I was trusted to manage small projects independently, contribute ideas in team discussions, and present findings to stakeholders, which helped build my confidence and ownership.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, I’ve developed mainly my analytical and communication skills through regular reporting and presenting insights to a wide array of stakeholders. I also improved my proficiency in reporting tools like SAP BO & Power BI and deepened my understanding of fintech trends, while learning how to manage tasks independently and work effectively within a global team.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received more support than I expected, especially from my line manager and day-to-day manager. They regularly checked in, provided constructive feedback, and created a supportive environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and learning. Their guidance played a big role in my development and confidence throughout the placement.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture at Vodafone was inclusive, collaborative, and supportive. Everyone was approachable and open to sharing knowledge, which made it easy to learn and contribute. The atmosphere was professional yet friendly, and I felt genuinely valued as part of the team throughout my placement.
