Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
A day to day differs for me. I have a varied workload that includes writing up technical letters, processing business or doing phone calls to clients/other companies. I am responsible for managing the college apprentices as well as their workload, providing support where necessary.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love it. There is so much opportunity to learn and develop myself with plenty of work that differs on a day-to-day basis. In terms of the learning side (at University), I am able to take what I learn and relate this into the workplace. I am also able to study towards alternative exams that are outside of this, enabling me to boost my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills, particularly in my knowledge of the financial industry and being able to write at a very high technical level. Focusing on existing skills, such as confidence, teamwork and communication - these have been boosted greatly through my experience and the responsibilities I have. It has also developed my initiative skills which is vital for where I work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is a very well structured and organised programme. In terms of work, I am in work 4 days a week with 1 day out at University which gives me the opportunity to work towards the degree. It is a well balanced structure that works for me perfectly. I have plenty of time to have a perfect work/life/study balance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is great. I am able to go to them for support on anything - for example, hitting key KSBs for my off the job learning or something I want to learn at work. Outside of work/university, I can get the relevant support for anything personal should it ever be needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The University has amazing support whether that be for personal or learning reasons. They are super supportive with where to find this and offer plenty of opportunities to help with work. In terms of teaching, the lecturers, I have had so far, have been amazing in getting us to understand the content and are available to email should any further support is needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification at university has enabled me to understand the ways a business operates and I can identify this within my organisation. As one of my responsibilities is management, learning the different styles of management and thus, implementing this into my role. It has also helped me with my confidence as being at a new place of study, and being around new people has expanded my views to others in a similar position, taking tips from them also.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of social activities that we can get involved in. They could be for charity, workplace or a general social meet up. For example, there are professional networking events to meet our clients, parties (for Christmas) and other events like BBQs. We have also signed up to do a 26 mile walk for charity in July so there are loads of extra-curricular activities.
