Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is very involved within the firm. I am lucky to have an active role in a number of client matters, both civil and criminal. I also take responsibility for the firm's solicitor / client billing. My days are require use of a range of skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme. Everyday is different and gives me a chance to engage my mind. I have been given access to experiences (like attending Court) that I do not think that I would have had on other similar programmes. What I have learnt and am continuing to learn is invaluable.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed a raft of skills during my role. I have majorly improved my communication, gained problem solving and analytical skills. I have hugely developed my time management skills and starting working on my leadership ability.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well structed. I have a designated study day each week to complete my course learning. Because of the range of client matters I work on I have been able to apply my learning to real client problems.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive good support from my employer. I am listened to and always feel able to raise an issue should it arise. Where I have had a problem that needs solving in the past my employers have worked with me to put a solution into practice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive good support from my training provider (BPP). I know that there are lots of support services offered should I need them. I have a tutor for each module that provides engaging workshops and support for additional help outside of these.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge that I gain from my training provider (BPP) helps me to carry out my role much more efficiently. This is mostly due to the legal knowledge that I learn on my course which I can then put into practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are not many opportunities available like this to me. When they have arisen I make sure to put myself forward.

Why?
The vast amount of skills and knowledge that you gain through day to day work is invaluable and will set you up within your career. The experiences that you have access to are eye opening and excellent from a training perspective. Being in a small firm further allows you to take more responsibility that otherwise would not be available.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Knights Solicitors?
While the day to day life is hard work you are rewarded by the knowledge and skills you are gaining. You will be sure to learn something new everyday.
