Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an Energy Consultant at Switch 365, my primary role involves speaking to customers to understand their current energy needs. I work closely with them to analyse their consumption patterns, identify potential areas for improvement, and offer tailored solutions that help save both time and money when procuring energy contracts. My goal is to ensure they get the best possible value from their energy contracts while making the process as efficient and straightforward as possible.
In addition to my role as an energy consultant, I also serve as an Account Manager, where I support the day-to-day management of energy services for our clients. This involves handling customer inquiries, resolving any issues, and ensuring that their energy accounts are running smoothly. I provide ongoing support to make sure their energy needs are met, whether it’s managing contract renewals, monitoring energy consumption, or offering advice on optimizing energy use to drive further savings.
Together, these roles allow me to work directly with clients to provide value, streamline their energy procurement process, and ensure they receive the best possible service and support every day

I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship at Switch 365. The opportunities for learning, the support from my team, and the chance to work across multiple departments have made it an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only have I gained valuable skills in energy procurement, leadership, and customer service, but I’ve also developed confidence in my role. The apprenticeship has been both fulfilling and motivating, and I’m excited to continue growing within the company.

I have developed a wide range of skills. I’ve built my ability to build strong customer relationships by understanding their energy needs and offering tailored solutions. My expertise in energy procurement and contract management has grown, enabling me to negotiate the best deals for clients. Additionally, I’ve strengthened my problem-solving skills, efficiently resolving customer issues, and I’ve become adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Leadership and teamwork have been key areas of development, as I’ve taken on more responsibilities and supported my colleagues. My communication skills have also improved, helping me explain complex concepts clearly to clients. Overall, these skills have equipped me to provide exceptional service and drive success for both clients and the team.

The support I've received from Switch has been great. I’ve feel the support has been tailored to my development, allowing me to gradually take on more responsibilities while building key skills. The support has not only been professional but on a personal level.

My qualification through the training provider has been extremely beneficial in helping me perform better in my role. The training has provided me with valuable theoretical knowledge that complements the practical experience I’ve gained on the job. The skills I am learning in leadership and management, have directly enhanced my ability to support my team. The combination of the qualification and hands-on experience has allowed me to approach my role with greater confidence and competence
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The culture at Switch 365 is amazing. We do lots of fun activities, and the atmosphere is really supportive. I’m lucky to be able to call many of my colleagues friends, which makes working here even more enjoyable.
