As part of my role as Assistant Head teacher, I was asked to take on the responsibility of Digital Lead. This involves driving the use of technology to support and enhance teaching and learning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed getting to learn about the different technology available and how that could be applied within my school setting. It was good to have support for this and the opportunities to work with others to develop this.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to use a range of different educational technology within the classroom, how to trouble shoot and support others with hardware/software difficulties, how to create a vision for digital across the school and drive that forward.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Regular sessions with my coach plus group online learning sessions. Expectation to complete regular off the job hours which has been supported by the school to enable regular learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been very supportive and ensured that I have had the time to complete my apprenticeship while doing the other parts of my job role. They have always discussed with me what I needed and made sure I could complete activities.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Regular coaching and group sessons. Always available to talk and discuss when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Without the apprenticeship, I would have found it very difficult to gain the skills and confidence I needed for the digital aspect of my job. It has enabled me to progress and lead digital across the school and ensured I had the experiences I needed.
