As a Learning Support Assistant for 16–19-year-olds, I provide academic and emotional support, help students stay engaged, and promote independence. I work with teachers to adapt materials and ensure each student’s needs are met.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy helping the students and interacting with my colleagues, the course I'm on is informative and helping me along the way with developing skills and techniques to help me in class.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to manage SEN students in a classroom, getting them to stay on task and complete work, using different strategies for different students.

Very well organised, with clear deadlines and professional development days. The Mentors are always able to be contacted through email in case of any concerns or queries

I receive a great deal of support from my employer. They provide clear communication, regular feedback, and resources to help me grow professionally.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a good amount of support from the training provider, with them constantly giving me support for off the job hours and help with the coursework tasks as well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me different strategies that can help with supporting the students, they give me an understanding of why these student may be acting the way they do and how best to help them.
