Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

We had a number of presentations from different members of the firm and all employees at all levels where very open to meeting with vacation scheme participants.
Also got tasked on real client matters which provided a good insight into the day to day work of the firm and of a trainee.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was very interesting and enriching. It was great to see the number of opportunities that are available at all levels of the firm and the emphasis on learning.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have honed my commercial thinking and developed my legal research and writing skills. I have also extended my network in the legal sector. Learnt to tackle legal issues and provide solutions. Also improved my ability to work in a team achieve desirable outcomes.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture and atmosphere was very good and friendly. People took the time to speak to me and answer my questions about the firm, they work-life balance, their on journey into law etc...
Everyone was really supportive, giving the right amount of guidance and resources to make work enjoyable and learn something everyday.
Amongst the vacation schemers there was also a good comradery.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I really enjoyed it. It confirmed my intuition that I would fit in at Linklaters and enjoy the work at Linklaters. It was great to see all the programs put in place to make diversity and inclusivity a living reality at Linklaters.. I also very much enjoyed experiencing the forward looking-ness of the firm and its ambitions.
