To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed it. It has been good to slowly learn the skills and processes over the year long programme. It has given me the opportunity to work in a role that I wouldn't have been able to do without experience.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my customer service skills and learnt new skills such as using CAD and other systems electronically. I now have the skills to design kitchens correctly and sell them.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is quite well organised, I know when my apprenticeship leader is coming to visit or having a meeting over teams, and I also know what I need to accomplish before the next meeting.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer, I am able to ask any questions to any of the employees and they are happy to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received a lot of support from my training provider as he has made it clear I can always call or email him with any questions I may have about my work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has helped me perform better, however I think learning on the job has had a better effect.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have social events inside and outside of work and this helps us work better as a team. The company also puts on exhibitions to help us for the better, designing and selling kitchens.

I believe this has been a great stepping stone that helps allow someone to work in a field that it would be hard to achieve if it wasn't for the apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
Try and get through the work load as soon as possible as this helps you be able to focus on learning on the job and gaining the experience in the job role.
