Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

design, measure and sell kitchens. calling customers, dealing with issues, managing your own diary, managing howdens work surface orders, managing lead banks for all designers, helping members of staff who are not experianced.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy it when i am not behind - but due to the depot instability and lack of staff and experience it has been the most difficult time of my howdens career. leaving me a little under motivated.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learned people skills and how to tackle situations in the right way. also learned how to take constructive feedback better.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

very organised - but to the point that you fall behind as you need to fit the modules in with working your real time job, then you end up doing it at home as there are not enough hours to do it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive it when i can, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was great with my project but longer longer work with him - but due to my job role i am very much in control of what i do, leaving me with putting the customer needs and business needs first above the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

its hard to say - as you don't really showcase your skills until your in the role - my role is very mobile. meaning i may not even be in depot to demonstrate skills, or lack of time/opportunity to do it again down to the job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend Howdens to a friend?
Yes
Why?
i feel that you need to be very mentally driven to want to do well, howdens comes with pressure and i feel a lot of people these days would prefer as easier working life, go work get paid. howdens is 24/7 i do not switch off.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
i would advise working for howdens - but i would tell them to be prepared for fast employee changes, sudden enhanced workloads, staying late, long hours, and it can be hard to progress in your career, because if your good they will not move you from your job role your in.
