Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
During my apprenticeship, my time was split between on-the-job learning and course work via my apprenticeship provider. The plan created for me by my team allowed me to join project teams around the business for 3-4 month periods and my on-the-job work alligned with the theory I was learning via my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed the aspect of learning whilst doing, I think the course work was the biggest challenge as I was so keen to 'do-the-do'. I also enjoyed the feeling of seeing genuine development in a range of skills at a face pace.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I developed a range of soft skills such as leadership, communication and problem solving, however I also learnt a range of new hard skills such as risk management, planning and financial management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The first few months were brilliant as we were all together in person one a month, the challenge came when our learning moved to online due to Covid. My team were flexible in tailoring the structure to my wants and needs, which was benefical.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A great deal, I was assigned a buddy to support with keeping on track and my whole team were at my disposal in terms of getting extra support or deep diving into a topic.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
APM were okay in regards to support, I think the challenge was shifting to online in a time where it was new for me and my training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Very much so, I constantly reference my learning as a point of core, basic information. I continue to use the core elements of the work as a GAP anaylsis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, my employer supported me in launching a youth and development employee resource group.
