Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Major Projects Engineer with oversight of multiple large-scale construction sites, ensuring that all works are executed appropriately and in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Responsible for managing several council term maintenance contracts, including verge overruns and road resurfacing programs. Experienced in project design, preparation of Bills of Quantities, and traffic management planning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I greatly appreciate the support I receive in the workplace, both in terms of my day-to-day responsibilities and the delivery of the apprenticeship. However, the support from the training provider has been lacking, with ongoing challenges in communication and the consistency of their delivery.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, nearly all of the skills listed above are ones I developed in this role, as it is my first full-time position.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
For the most part, the programme is effective, though there is always room for improvement. I understand that a more detailed development action plan is currently being created to enhance the programme further.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As stated above, I am very pleased with the support from the employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
As mentioned above, the support provided needs significant improvement in several key areas, particularly in communication and the delivery of the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The course offers valuable insight into various areas of civil engineering, such as surveying and the construction environment. However, it would be more beneficial if it covered a broader range of topics, rather than focusing primarily on building and construction.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, and they are great when they happen. However, it would be better if there were more events and more people wanting to participate.
