Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Detective Inspector with ACU. Investigating police corruption.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The University element was a chance in a life time, that I would never have been able to experience without the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Whilst on the apprenticeship I completed a Masters Degree in Evidence Based Policing at Cambridge University. This provided an evidenced based approach to my work and enabled me to meet colleagues from across policing and the Home Office developing a wider understanding of policing across the UK and further afield.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The university element was excellent - the Senior Leaders element felt like an addition.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer was fantastic, I was afforded time and resources to complete my Masters.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
For the degree element there was excellent support and guidance. The SLA felt a little more disjointed but support was available on request.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The EBP Mst has provided me with greater analytical insight and a more questioning mindset about what work in policing. It also helped challenge what works in theory v practice, which provides a rounded approach to my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes. There is a sports and social society.
