Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Preparing Budgets, producing forecasts, presenting at senior leadership team meetings.
Interact daily with Finance colleagues as well as operational areas around financial queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Financial reporting - necessary and required to understand the more technical aspects of Accountancy.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Interpersonal and team working particularly with operational teams.
IT - Excel in particular which has improved problem solving skills.
Coaching/mentoring more junior colleagues more recent into the team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
All then captured as part of a case study to refresh the whole level.
Course and materials well detailed with lots of resources available.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
Personally feel Apprenticeships better suited for more junior roles or employees earlier in their careers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
Further emails from tutors when completion of progress tests etc for any further support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Management accounts more relevant along with Ethics module around communication and structures etc helps with the Finance Business Partnering elements of my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Some social events organised by our own teams but not aware of professional networking events.
