Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Management Accounting/Finance Business Partnering.
Preparing Budgets, producing forecasts, presenting at senior leadership team meetings.
Interact daily with Finance colleagues as well as operational areas around financial queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Enjoy the technical side of the course. Some modules particularly interesting and enlightening around the changes in Financial landscape with technological advancements - AI, Blockchain etc.
Financial reporting - necessary and required to understand the more technical aspects of Accountancy.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Communication/Presentation skills.
Interpersonal and team working particularly with operational teams.
IT - Excel in particular which has improved problem solving skills.
Coaching/mentoring more junior colleagues more recent into the team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Well structured - split between Theory/Ethics, Financial and Management modules.
All then captured as part of a case study to refresh the whole level.
Course and materials well detailed with lots of resources available.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Difficult managing full time role with Apprenticeship work, particularly when experienced and further into career development with more responsibility.
Personally feel Apprenticeships better suited for more junior roles or employees earlier in their careers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Resource material provided, online options of LiveChat and email queries.
Further emails from tutors when completion of progress tests etc for any further support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some parts are irrelevant to my role - particularly Financial reporting.
Management accounts more relevant along with Ethics module around communication and structures etc helps with the Finance Business Partnering elements of my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not that I am aware of.
Some social events organised by our own teams but not aware of professional networking events.
