Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As part of my apprenticeship, I get to move around different departments in the business so I have been in other roles but at the moment I am in the invoice processing team, on a day-to-day basis I get invoices come in from suppliers and I have to check that they are all okay to be approved and sent off for further checks before they get paid
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme that I am on as it is giving me the opportunity to meet so many new people whether that is people with years and years experience who have been in the same boat as me or whether that is people my own age who are also on the same sort of programme and are going through similar sort of things at the moment whether that is also an apprenticeship or a graduate scheme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The whole time I have had this apprenticeship, I would say that I am learning new skills literally every single day whether that is in my day to day role or on the early careers programme that we have where I am learning new skills. Development of existing skills include things like getting better at communication skills, and growing my confidence in always meeting new people etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very structured and I always know what is going on and when I have something coming up that I need to attend. Core skills is every few months which gives me something to look forward to as it is away from the office for a few days doing something new.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The people have been one of the best things out of my programme as not one person has ever made me feel uncomfortable or like I can't ask for help etc. In each and every role I have been in my employer has made me feel so comfortable and not out of place which was a worry of mine before I started. It makes me feel so at ease the fact I know I have support there from so many people whenever I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Support from the training provider is really good as they all have made it very clear, that even though it is online and nothing is in person, that if we are struggling with any in particular, all it takes is a quick email and they will happily jump on a teams call to explain it not matter what time in the day.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think my qualification has helped slightly to perform better in my role as there are some things I learn that give me knowledge to use in my day-to-day role, but what I am learning in my studies does not always directly relate to what I am in my destination role it will all start to click into place
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a few extra-curricular activities at work that I have got involved in before such as Christmas meals and other social events with people from work. This was quite nerve wracking at first as I was the new one with people who had done it together before but I was made to feel very welcome and always end up having a good time and getting to know the people that I work with better. I also have a first time in person rewards ceremony that I will be attending soon which will be very different for me but I am looking forward to

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Tarmac to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think the people at Tarmac are one of the main reasons I would recommend to a friend as every single person is so lovely and it actually feels like you are working as a team there, Tarmac also provide you with some great benefits and also care about peoples wellbeing
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tarmac?
The main tip that I would give to someone applying to Tarmac would just be to be yourself. I think that if you try too hard or to be someone who you are not, it doesn't come across as good as if you were to just be yourself. You don't need to try and be the loudest in the room either
