Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Managing the commercial side of tasks on my project, for example budget forecasts, tender enquiries, site instructions, valuing works for payment, and so on. These, in conjunction with soft skills such as working in a team and conflict avoidance are what I encounter on a daily basis
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy going for my block weeks as University, it’s a nicer alternative to doing online lectures once a week. Sometimes all the work can feel a bit overwhelming - however I finish it all to the best of my ability.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
While this role has improved on my soft skills such as team works and communicating, it has taught me hard skills about Quantity Surveying that will be useful in my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I would say it is well structured. They give us clear dates and deadlines for certain tasks and events.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I think it would help the business if there were a few more people dedicated to assisting in the Apprenticeship scheme and are more directly involved, for example if we need help with an assignment we need to get in contact with our teacher who may not always be available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We received lots of support from our training providers as there are specially involved people who help us every step of the way.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have learnt a multitude of new skills and processes by competing my university work, whether it be using new software or learning about new parts of the business I operate in.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We are usually provided the option to partake in many different networking and social value events when the opportunity arises.
