Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role with in the business as an apprentice is to cost manage with my college (60+) jobs from rif evaluation (DM1) to the end of the project (DM5).For the duration of the project i handle a multitude of forms some linking into one another and other completely separate.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Id say that the programme I'm on is the best programme nationally experience, growth (Myself) and connections as well as skills have been exceptional. However it become a little difficult to manage at times as work load of 60+ jobs between 2 people in the team ranging in size can be quite difficult to manage, and over half in construction. But in terms of from start to now its been the best decision i have made in my career path and im really looking forward to moving up with experience within Kier.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a multitude of skills as well as developed most importantly my communication has become far better. I have gained a further understanding of contracts and how to handle and manage financially by forecasting and projecting what may happen.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is exceptionally structured, everything is put in place when it needs to be. Help is always there when needed and it makes me feel comfortable that i can focus on work load and University, not feeling under pressure because everything has already been taken care of.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Kier has always been a place where i feel i can express my opinion and most importantly emotions when times are tough.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have just gone through my first assignment last month and when i had asked my training provider questions they where answered promptly and accurately which fills me with comfortability.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like i can use and adapt my current skillset and knowledge with the training providers and this enables me to gain and quicker and better understanding of a task that's been handed to me. IT will only enable me in the future to answer my line managers task methodically and accurately .
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Move through may we have set up a team, setting up goals to aim for. All of which are achievable and through that hopeful to raise money. Walks are inspired at lunches as Quantity surveyor because we sit and look at the screen all day or may be in High level meetings.

Why?
The reason why i would is because i myself see kier in 5-10 years time outputting incredible schemes opportunity's and growth that is sustainable and that is perfect for someone that is looking to embed themselves and learn comfortably whilst you also know the business is going to keep your job role safe.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?
If they are applying id say, There is so much to kier that you will learn- endless opportunities there will be something for you here and you will be able to grab knowledge of all sectors and take that anywhere. Best place to learn as they cover all sectors.
Remember that hard works pays of and you will be recognised from within the business - this recognition is noticed because of Organisation, structure turning up earlier, giving yourself time to relax but start on time. Additionally note down the most important and achieve it to the bests of your ability because 1 thing perfect is better than 10 things wrong.
