My role as a warehousemen at Howdens is to scan in stock, put away and complete picks that come through to the scanner on a day to day basis my job is to keep the warehouse tidy complete picks scan in stock and make sure we get stock away as quick as possible so there are no hazards.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme because my role is very active im up all day and i also like the creativity of the job role because its not just one job its multiple for example putting away picking creating space there's so much to do in this job and i like how practical it is
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I became much more confident speaking to customers and this job has also improved my multi-tasking and overall fitness has improved overall at the start of the apprenticeship i was shy and didn't know where everything is now I'm much more confident and know where everything is and i learnt a lot on health and safety
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised and structured Didac showed up every month sometimes multiple times a month and instead of doing it over teams they came to see me in person as i understood my work more when he was explaining it to me in person i learnt alot on British values and health ans safety from Didac and they worked it through our busy days at howdens
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support whatever i need help with my employer will help me any kind of support i need from my employer whether its help locating something or expressing an idea for the warehouse for example creating space my employer will listen and also help me to the best of his ability to make sure i understand and can do my job stress free
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received a lot of support it was supposed to be once a month ill see him in person and once a month it will be over a teams call but i found it easier in person so every time i saw him was in person and sometimes i sw him multiple times a month to make sure we had plenty of time to work on my maths and English and all the other courses he supported me throughout the apprenticeship
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel very confident now i know a lot more on health and safety as ive got a better understanding on what i need to do to keep everything safe and the importance of it for example making sure stock is away as soon as possible so there's no risk of tripping
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Im not to sure but i think howdens supports small business and the small business will also promote our business to help both grow

Yes
Why?
Its a very pratical job and its not like your doing the same job there are multiple jobs to do within this role and its also very beneficial for our fitness
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
Read the labels on the stock to make sure its not to heavy so you don't injure yourself and take your time make sure all the stock goes into the correct places to prevent confusion and so when it comes to picking it you know where it is otherwise you may struggle to find where you put it
