Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an apprentice you have the opportunity to rotate around key functions of the business while learning and developing. I'm Currently working in materials which is a critical function that supports manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory management. I manage a small production line which involves building relationships with teams and ensure the right material is available at the right time. I also have projects to work on alongside this which help me to gain new skills and work with others across the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my program to a great extent because it provides a perfect balance of theoretical knowledge and practice application. There is a great community of support which helps to prepare us for future roles. The ability to apply university learnings to real-life situations helps to understand the business on a deeper level.

It allows me to better apply my learnings to workplace scenarios, I've been able to understand different leadership approaches, financial positioning, understand more about myself, importance of marketing for brands aswell.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, apprentices are split into enrichment teams which create opportunities for the apprentice community. SPET look at the social aspect, we have a Christmas social and summer social aswell as others throughout the year. There's also a team sports day and opportunities for professional discussions with people across the business.
