Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

To provide general support to all members of the Finance Business Partnering
Team.
Assist in the development of an ongoing professional relationship
with budget holders, to ensure that the needs of the budget holder are
fully satisfied, and SLAs are adhered to.
Assist the Finance Business Partners in the regular review of financial
transactions and processes, to help identify any issues or areas of
concern that need to be addressed.
Assist the Finance Business Partners in the production of reports,
analysis and presentations in order to provide clear and useful
information to budget holders.
Provide support to the Finance Business Partners for a range of
transactional tasks such as raising invoices, processing recharges, cost
allocations, etc. so that the general ledgers are correctly updated
maintained.
Act as a first point of contact, in some cases, for the Finance Business
Partnering team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my apprenticeship programme because it offers practical experience, allowing me to apply what I learn in real-world scenarios. The continuous learning process helps me gain new skills and knowledge regularly, while the clear path to becoming a chartered accountant provides motivation and a sense of direction. Support from mentors and colleagues makes the journey more enjoyable, and the diverse tasks I handle keep the work interesting and engaging.

Real world application of knowledge, skills and experience picked up through CIMA Qualification. Additional development of digital skills in programs such as MS Excel. E.G - Functions, macros, pivot tables and formula. Development of presenting skills, teamwork, communication and problem solving. Work towards multiple deadlines which have developed time management and work prioritisation skills

My programme is very well organised and structured. I can book study leave days each week for 66% of the year, which I can schedule in line with my exams. The remaining 33% of the time is spent shadowing experienced colleagues, giving me a balanced mix of study and practical experience. This structure helps me manage my time effectively and ensures I get the most out of both my studies and hands-on learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive support from my employer. They provide study leave days, allowing me to focus on my exams and coursework for 66% of the year. Additionally, I have the option to shadow experienced colleagues for the remaining 33%, which helps me gain practical insights and hands-on experience. This combination of study time and shadowing ensures I have the resources and guidance needed to succeed in my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive substantial support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. This includes quarterly reviews to track my progress, on-demand tuition for all modules, and additional Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSB) modules. The on-demand support ensures I can get help whenever I need it, making the learning process smoother and more manageable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification through my training provider significantly enhances my performance in my role. The comprehensive curriculum, including on-demand tuition and additional KSB modules, equips me with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop in my role and put me in a better position towards advancing further in my career

Yes, there are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work. We have an intranet and an internal social media page where various social activities, sports teams, and professional networking events are regularly posted. This makes it easy to stay connected and participate in activities that interest me, helping to build a sense of community and balance work with social engagement.
