Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, I retrieve stock that has been bought by customers and despatch it to them either by delivery driver or collection. I also unload wagons that usually come in twice a day and put the incoming stock away into their correct stock bays.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am loving my time here at Howdens. The staff here have welcomed me in and it's like a family. I'm really enjoying the work and getting to know the regular customers. I feel honoured to work here and every day feels different in a good way.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to drive a forklift truck. I have also learnt how serve customers at the front desk with help from the software used here at Howdens (K8). I learnt how to use the scanners in aid of retrieving stock for customers.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

This apprenticeship is well structured. My trainee has a set day once a month where she comes in and asks about how the previous month has gone and if I feel like I need to improve on any areas.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As said above I receive a lot of support from my training provider. I also get a lot of support from my colleagues. If I'm struggling with something or am unsure on something, they're usually out like a flash to help me.

I did a Go Karting event the other week as a team building experience so there is stuff like that.
