Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work within the payroll department, I have around 85 clients at present and so the majority of my day is spent running payrolls, sending to the client, answering queries and dealing with pension compliance alongside various other tasks
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the learning aspect of my apprenticeship and being able to use what I learn in a practical environment helps to solidify the information. I enjoy the team I work in which helps with the day to day role and studying.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt all of the skills required to process payrolls including computer systems skills. I have been able to develop on my team working skills as well as time management as a lot of my job revolves around processing in a accurate and timely manner.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is well structured as the modules flow together, allowing you to progress through the course using knowledge you have already learnt. This is particularly useful when starting off with director only clients, then building up to bigger clients as you progress through the course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my company. My colleague I work in the room with is extremely helpful and patient, always happy to answer my questions and guide me when needed. I also receive a lot of support from my managers
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider, in particular my tutor, was extremely helpful the whole way through. She helped me to fast track through the course, always helping to answer questions about the modules or EPA. She was very knowledgeable and always gave clear and concise answers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

If I get stuck on something I am processing, my first point of call is to go back to the powerpoints and my notes to jog my memory. Completing the coursework throughout the level 3 qualification has allowed me to gain confidence, which then leads to a better performance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a lot of social activities throughout the year, as well as quiz nights etc to raise money for charity

Why?
I really enjoy my time at Westcotts, everyone in the office is lovely and helpful which always makes work nicer to come to. I feel I have a good work life balance since starting at Westcotts which was really important for me because of my children.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Westcotts?
My first tip would be to be yourself! I think this is important as you need to be your true self to ensure the job is right for you. My second tip would be to check through the job specifications to ensure the job is what you are looking for
