Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I take part in preparation of accounts whilst also completing various types of audit testing for a diverse range of different clients. Amongst this doing other activities that accustom myself to office life: building reports, preparation of slideshows and other useful skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme at Westcotts very much. This is largely down to the friendly environment and strong work culture that they have built making me feel welcome and a part of a team that cares for me and also my success in the industry.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots about accounting and how to fit in amongst in a professional, this has been partly through my studies that Westcotts provides but also partly through hands on experience that they allow me to get whilst working.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme has been very well structured thus far and continues to be with a clear path into how I can develop my knowledge as time goes on throughout my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

With weekly meetings from my line manager and also lots of support from seniors that I get to work under on audits i get all of the support I need that is necessary to answer any questions I feel I have
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Sessions are set up within Westcotts at lunches in order for any queries people may have about upcoming test or even just knowledge you would like to know in order tha you understand you're qualification and the content inside it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel it helps me understand the main reason for audit testing which is having knowledge of why we test each area in order to gain confidence that what we are doing is right, hence gives me alot more assurance that what I am doing is right and relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of social events that take place that or set up on a frequent basis by a social committee to ensure that we can also enjoy activities together outside of work.

Why?
Because the support they have provided me with since joining has been phenomonal and the opportunities the career brings helps me enjoy my work whilst also allowing me to feel secure about my future.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Westcotts?
Do it sooner rather than later, it never hurts to have an apprenticeship sorted to help relieve stress for your situation after College.
