Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am an AMA apprentice and day to day I build new kitted units, repair units, fault find, complete final assembly of units, and carry out specific procedures on the shop floor.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love this program it lets you get immersed within the engineering teams and see how products get made from start to finish, it allows you to be part of a critical and crucial business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned how to use specific tooling, such as torque drivers, applying RTV to units, soldering, and using electrical testing equipment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My program has a very good basic structure but things sometimes feel rushed or pushed together due to the nature of a fast paced business.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive loads of support from my employer not only when it comes to work but also college, and even relocating and making new working relationships with peers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive all of the support needed to excel in my qualification, if anything becomes a problem all I have to do is ask for help or guidance. They also regularly check up with each of us in reviews to share and get to know how we are doing in work and college.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My qualification doesn't overly relate to what I am doing at the moment but it gives me a deeper understanding of what I am building and how the products function and work. It does help when it comes to learning how to safely work and handle products as well as fault find.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have regular social activities in and out of work time in order to stay connected to people in the same areas as us and branch out to meet other apprentices in other areas or courses. It allows us to create friendships as well as working relationships.
