Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves cashing up, counting the safe, managing a team on shift, opening and locking the pub up, cleaning the beer lines, cleaning cask, accepting beer deliveries, clearing service areas, running food, serving on the bar, ordering POS, posting on social media, setting other members of staff up on social media.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme very much, I enjoy the aspects of learning and even though the level three has a high work load I still manage to log on once a week and stay up to date with learning. My coach is also very helpful guiding me through the apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes learnt a variety of new skills from lifetime training. Learnt about different service styles, what different hospitality industries offer, developed more existing skills in the area of british values, learnt about off the job hours, how to stay up to date with the latest trends and technology within hospitality.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very structured and organised. All of the learning components are separated and spaced out into different months and there are dates on all the modules to stick to a target. There is the off the job hours which is set out in a graph and all helplines fall also be found on the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. We have regular check ins and meetings, some face to face and some online through teams. These reviews are every 4-6 weeks and I can also get in contact with my employer at any point in time if I have any queries.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications as they give me briefings to look at to give me a better idea and understanding of the work ahead. They also support me by staying in contact with me and keeping me up to date with relevant information.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me to perform better as it equips me with more skills needed and gives me a wider range of knowledge. One of the virtual classrooms I did also helped me on how to better deal with complaints and to come
across to customers in a better manner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend Lifetime Training to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend lifetime training because the qualifications, the programme and support system that they offer is exceptional. The government pay for you to do a qualification through them so why wouldn’t you do it! It’s a no brainer. The qualification do also look better on your CV
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lifetime Training?
The tips and advice I would give to other applying to Lifetime Training are to always keep up to date with your learning so it doesn’t build up, make sure you are logging in once a week to stay up to date and uploading to your off the job hours.
